ROMAN CRAZY (Broads Abroad #1) by Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci Book Review

                ROMAN CRAZY

By Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci
B L U R B:
Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…
Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

M Y  R E V I E W:
So this weekend, my wonderful, amazing, fabulous husband took three of our boys to Mount Shasta, while Nina Bocci and Alice Clayton took me on a journey to Rome, Italy. And my gosh, I had the most WONDERFUL TIME!

I was swept away in this magical book, I could smell the pastries walking down the cobblestone streets of Rome with Avery. I could see the ancient portraits as she worked her magic restoring them. My heart broke with her as her marriage fell apart, and I swooned with her as Marcello placed gentle playful kisses along her neck.

Most of all I FELL, I fell with Avery and Marcello, madly in love right along with them. I hung on their every word and soaked every tender sweet beautiful moment they shared.

This book was a gift, and absolute treasure,  an EXPERIENCE  and a wonderful journey that I am so thankful I was able to take with these two brilliant, hilarious women.

This book had be laughing outloud, to the point of having to explain myself to my teenage daughter, it also had me on the verge of tears, so full of emotion I thought my heart would burst.

While this book delivers on history, sharing fascinating facts about Rome, as well as the Artwork. But it also told the heartwarming story of the history between Marcello (swoon) and Avery. What it didn't do was add in a bunch of unnecessary will they / won't they drama. Its just a beautiful story about the very best kind of LOVE... the FOREVER kind.
