5 Questions with AUTUMN GREY Author of FALL BACK SKYWARD and the HAVOC series.

1.
What are you currently reading or what’s the last book you read that you want to yell from the rooftops, “EVERYONE, Stop what you’re doing and read………”?

The last book I read was It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. This book was AMAZING! It hit so close to home and at one point, I
had to stop reading it because the feels... it was too much (in a good, bittersweet kind of way) So once I finished reading it, I took a deep breath and said to myself, "That was one hell of a story." Stunning.

2.
Tell us about your first “Holy shit, I’m doing it. I’m an author, like for reals” moment...and then tell us about your first kiss in 5 words.(Yes, I'm totally cheating and sneaking 2 questions in one) :

The moment I clicked 'publish'  on Amazon for my first novella, Havoc. I was euphoric.  I couldn't believe that my baby was out there for everyone to see, read.  It was such a wonderful feeling.

First Kiss in 5 Words:

Awkward Sloppy Nervous
Eager Unforgettable

3.
Cole, the hero of Fall Back Skyward is deaf, and the characters speak in ASL throughout the book. Do you know ASL yourself? Is this a language that is close to your heart?

Before I started writing Fall Back Skyward, I had very little knowledge of sign language. Mostly, in German. A friend of mine had began teaching me, but then she had to move away.  I didn't pick it up again until I started Fall Back Skyward. I try to teach myself a few phrases through videos. I hope that one day I'll be able to take classes for real.

Will we get to read more about Megs & Simon, Elise, Elon, and Tate? Who’s story comes next?

Oh yes! I'm not sure when I'll write Megs & Simon's story, but it's on my list. I really want to explore their relationship and give these two HEA. They totally deserve one.

I'm currently writing Elon's story. I still haven't come up with a title for this story, but what I can tell you is, it's fuckin' amazing! Watching Elon trying not to respond to the pull toward her professor, and also the professor (Nathaniel Rowe) fighting the urge to give in to doing amazingly dirty things to her on his desk, has been quite a thrill. Nate is alpha and moody, but when his mood hits the sweet tones, he so swoonworthy. I can't tell you how many times I've 'Oohed' while writing this story. Elon, on the other hand, is her usual quiet self. I love her internal monologue, which is humorous sometimes.
I CANNOT wait to share this story with you all.

6.
You have found this amazing balance between being a loving, involved Mother, being a compassionate nurse, and being a gifted writer. Can you tell us a little bit about how you found that balance, and what are your favorite parts and hardest parts of juggling the three?

Thank you, Bex! You are too kind and sweet. I really try to find the balance, sometimes it feels like I'll never grasp the balancing act concept. Sometimes, when stars align, everything works perfectly well. I write  mostly when I have a day off or a couple of days off. The hardest part of trying to balance everything is that, at times when I'm at work I have all these ideas inside my head. If I'm lucky enough, I get the chance to quickly type them either on my phone or scribble them down on paper. If not, I lose those ideas and it's so frustrating because I know I won't get them back no matter how I try to remember.
The favorite parts. . . the fact that I can work 12-hour shifts, come home to my kids and just sit down and catch up on how our day was. . .it makes everything worth it. I don't force myself to write because if I do, I end up blocking my own creativity.
Another favorite part about this is, when I'm working my day job, no matter how tired I am physically, my mind somehow manages to work on the story on a subconscious level, sorting out any issues I'm having in regards to the plot.  All in all I'm thankful and grateful I get to do three things I enjoy a lot! :) I feel that  I've gotten stronger over the past few years and learned how to handle different situations.

Bonus Question: You’re stranded on a desert island. You can bring:

One Book Boyfriend: Gideon Cross

One Album: A toss-up between Imagine Dragons and Coldplay

One Survival Tool: Matchbox

One food that will magically appear prepared in a box each day: Pizza
